Reflect

User Experience Design, August - December 2013

During my Master's Program at IIT Institute of Design, I and my three other team members designed "Reflect" a digital tool for people who are interested in quantified self in order to keep track of their lives more objectively. Currently, majority of services focus on health and wellness metrics. However, we found large subset of users with desire to track other aspects of life such as productivity in pursuit of greater life balance, self-growth and self-awareness. With Reflect, Quantified self trackers can:

  • Combine quantitative and qualitative data to get a holistic view of life and insights.

  • Organize data into personalized categories based on their real life goals.

I participated throughout the whole design process including user research, Interaction design and video making.

Key Features

Automated data aggregation
Reflect collects data from relevant applications and tools such as Facebook or Nike fuel band and organizes them into life categories the user want to track.

Personalized goal setting
Reflect supports the user to set personalized goal for each life category in more meaningful way based on real life aspirations.

Self-evaluation
Reflect prompts users to assess each day using a qualitative rating scale. This act ensures users to get better insights for their life and quantitative data will support the evaluation.
